Greetings ladies and gents!
It has come to my attention from discussions with players, admins and personal observation these past few weeks that we all need to shape up in regards to how we treat others on the server.
Being a member of KFL is not simply a badge to wear indicating how good you are at the game. Rather, it is an indication that you are a positive member of a community that enjoys playing Killing Floor at a higher level.
The purpose of KFL has been and always will be nurturing a band of brothers of KF to have fun and kick ass. It is not supposed to be a grouping of elitist snobs throwing their weight around bullying newer or less skilled players.
As it stands, the server culture is poor. I have observed players deliberately harrassing others by among other things;
- Blocking and welding shut doorways after a wave to slow down others on the way to the trader.
- Deliberately welding out other players so that they are killed on maps such as gas station.
- Deliberately triggering the cable cart to crush other players on the Bank map.
- Deliberately spamming !RTD in the lower levels that leads to a squad wipe.
- Deliberately using !RTD before a rage quit in the hopes of getting a bad roll.
- Repeated spamming of !RTD just before the wave ends and refusing to kill off the last few specimens. This causes either the wave to drag on and on and on and on and on... or multiple deaths since ammo dependant classes would have run out. In any case it is a form of griefing.
- General insulting or intimidating behaviour and language that would border on or go beyond harrassment.
None of these things will be allowed to go on henceforth. The server rule is to respect all other players and admins and it will be enforced with kicks and IP bans if need be.
Take note that we are not advocating perfect flowery manners nor are we going to be draconian on the interpretation of the rules. However, the general rule of common sense applies.
Don't be a douchebag.
If a new player asks for help then help them. If it is a more complicated matter then direct them to this forum. Don't tell them to press alt f4 and be an asshole.
We all just want to have fun and kick ass. If you find that you can not have fun without making it not fun for others then you will no longer be welcome here.
